VoIP Solutions
Overview
As a wireless
data link customer, you can use VoIP products for voice and data
convergence. The VoIP equipment connects the radio or cabled network
on one side, and connects both the LAN and 4 to 8 analog lines
( or more), from the other side.
VoIP allows you to use your existing wireless data links for telephone
calls and faxes, thus eliminating the need to install additional,
expensive voice-only lines.
It functions as a voice and data gateway, through which both voice
traffic and network data traffic travel.
Our equipments facilitates two types of connections: point-to-point
connections, and point-to-multi-point connections.
Point-to-Point Connections
Point-to-point
connections occur between two different sites that have a dedicated
wireless data infrastructure. Our equipments allows you to use
this existing wireless connection to fax and call, toll-free and
faxes. You can use them for your voice, data, and fax communications.
In the solution illustrated in the following diagram, employees
can use the existing radio data link not only for network data,
but also for voice telephone calls, and for faxes.

Point-to-MultiPoint
Connections
In point-to-multi-point
connections, an VoIP unit at a central site is used as a hub to
connect all of the sites in a wireless network.
Point-to-multi-point connections are used in situations:
1. Interoffice connectivity: several remote offices must be connected
to each other, as well as to a central site.
2. CLEC's/ISPs: The low cost and easy-to-use features in the Ipico
enable the Service Providers to quickly deploy IP based Voice/Fax
services to their customers:
" · Internet Service Provider's (ISPs) and Competitive
Local Exchange Carriers (CLEC's) can derive additional monthly
revenue from their customer base via provisioning local PSTN voice
circuits, enabling inter company toll free calls; thus, through
an ILEC the system will route calls to Internet Long Distance
Telephony Providers.
" · Internet Telephony Service Providers (ITSPs) can
form alliances with local access providers to use the Ipico to
simplify the re-routing of specific long distance calls to their
PSTN gateways. The Ipico can be viewed as an intelligent "Internet
Re-dialer" directing a subset of calls to the ITSP network.
3.
Campus: (i.e. community), In the Campus model, the user owns the
infrastructure and the end users appliances. The model operates
over the existing Intranet network, while a gateway is needed
to allow external access. In the Operator model, the operator
owns the infrastructure. The model operates over the Internet
and a router is needed to manage communication
In the following solution, the CLEC/ISP headquarters is connected
to the PSTN using a third-party Telco gateway. The ISP headquarters
is also connected to the two branch offices using broadband, point-to-multipoint
with any radio technology. By adding VoIP units to the three sites,
employees at each location, can place telephone calls and send
faxes among the connected sites. The outlying sites can also place
telephone calls over the PSTN that is located at the ISP headquarters.
